🎯 Description: Human rights have been a key achievement of the last century to advance towards a world of peace and social progress for all. Since then, our world has become more globalized and urbanized. With the pandemic, local and regional governments became essential places and stakeholders for the fullfillemnt of human rights, responding to people's demands and making societies more resilient and inclusive. The UCLG Comittee on social inclusion, participatory democracy and human rights launches an international campaign "10, 100, 1000 human rights cities and territories by 2030" to bring together all local and regional governments willing to take innovative initiatives and leadership to bring human rights home, tackling inequalities, discriminations providing access to essential rights like water, food, education, housing or shaping a new generation of rights (digitalization, extra-territorial rights etc.). The session will bring together first local governments willing to join the campaign and call more local governments to join the international campaign towards Daejeon Congress.
